I have to admit, elopements might be my favorite type of wedding to photograph. Not only is it intimate, relaxed, casual and usually in an amazing location, but I get to know my clients so well!
When Ashley and Jake asked me to photograph their wedding at Grand Isle Resorts on Great Exuma, Bahamas, I could not believe how lucky I was to be able to witness this truly beautiful event!
We had 3 days together on this small, tropical island. Jake and Ashley met me at the tiny little airport, we toured the island picking out places for their pictures and found some gorgeous unspoiled beaches (and sand flats).
On the day of their wedding they awoke to beautiful blue skies and chirping tropical birds. We had coffee together and they chatted away about the plans for the day. The nice thing about a wedding with just two people is if things run late, its ok!
After their ceremony we took off to our favorite spot, the sand flats, to do some portraits. Even the rain (and the giant mosquitos) couldn’t stand in our way of splashing in the water exploring the beaches!
Ashley and Jake, thank you so much for allowing me to photograph your wedding. I had the best time getting to know you both and I have so many wonderful memories from our time together. I am SO happy for you!!
